Italian Sausage Spaghetti Sauce



And now the long awaited 2nd episode of The Cinnamon Bird! :)

I've been cooking a lot lately. It's a bit healthier than eat
ing out, and of course cheaper. And I love cheaper!

Last week, in an effort to fatten up my boyfriend, I mad
e spaghetti for dinner. My mom always made a meat sauce, but I could never find a great recipe until I found Kathy Maister's StartCooking.com. The recipe called for 1 1/2 pounds of Italian turkey sausage, but all I could find at Walmart (b/c I was broke) was Italian pork sausage. It was so delicious, I think I'll always use it. I used 6 links of Sweet Italian Sausage and 2 mild Italian links. I cannot believe how amazing this turned out. It was definitely worth standing over the skillet for 30 minutes. We had a green salad and rolls to complete our meal.
I'll be serving this to company, especially since it supposed to feed six people.

  1. Love the rooster cameo. I kind of miss that guy now that he's been passed on. I figure we can send him off to college with Laina. :) Also, I love Italian sausage. Mmmm!
